Tools for Transformation
As a professional wellness educator for the past 25 years, my mission is to help change the way we live on this planet. Looking at the ways we treat ourselves & ultimately each other, it is easy to see that our human connection is both a source of hurt – but it is also the key to our healing. In 1998, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Human or Cultural Geography and began to focus on how I could be of service and support in a world where human connection seemed to be struggling. In order to be a clear vessel for healing, I began to work on myself through yoga, cognitive & behavioral therapy, psychedlics, selfless service, and spiritual counseling. I studied my history & family tree, worked to reclaim my innocence, and developed skills to manage my trauma. I learned that I was an integral part of my own healing process, that advocating for myself was necessary & needed, and that healing can & does happen.
Since 2002, I’ve been working with a non-profit called Creating Our Future, who’s mission focuses on youth advocacy and the importance of acknowledging and addressing childhood trauma, self-image, and inner wounds. Our Healing the Wounds of Life workshops & retreats support participants in acknowledging, addressing, and healing their hearts with coaching that is rooted in abundance, self-worth, and joy. As a trained Hospice Grief Support Volunteer, I know what it means to hold space, listen, and offer support for those needing a personal connection, coach, or guide through life’s most challenging times. I’m dedicated and devoted to helping people heal from life’s wounds… so we can help each other and move forward in this crazy world. Working with individuals, small groups, like-minded non-profit organizations, and the public, my programs offer physical, mental-emotional, and even spiritual training & support for personal development. self-advocacy, and building community.
Simply put, I believe that the body is a temple for the soul, the mind a jewel of understanding, emotions are intuitive superpowers, and the spirit is truly divine. With a unique approach to personal transformation, my programs guide you to address your internal needs & soothe your nervous system with coaching, classes, and counseling that goes to the root and the heart of it all. Don’t let life get you down when we’re here to lift you up. Let’s find your path to wellness, reveal the “real” you, let go of what no longer serves, find your passion & purpose, and get ready to rise up!! Now is the time for change – let’s do this.
As a Yoga Alliance Continuing Ed Provider, I am passionate about leading classes, workshops, and experiential offerings that share yogic tradition & technology. My foundation as a teacher is rooted in Integrative Yoga Therapy (IYT), and helping students develop a strong physical practice firmly rooted in the Hatha Yoga tradition. With certifications in Virya (Power) Yoga and Kundalini Yoga I am able to meet folks where there at, bringing a variety of tools, techniques, and technology. Specializing in Radiant Child Yoga and Yoga for Youth, I am a proud advocate, anchor, & ally for our youth and work with schools & administrators to enthusiastically engage practitioners at every age.
Having joined the advisory board at the Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC), my goal is to ensure YwN is a long-standing resource within the community – with classes, internships, and programming specifically for our student & youth populations. Offering continuing education classes that qualify for Yoga Alliance – our programs ensure your professional certifications are up-to-date with interesting online & in-person opportunities for learning.
Our kids programming has become quite popular and is currently offered as after-school care and/or summertime programming at several local schools.
