To practice asana is to practice resting deeper in ones' seat. The word 'asana' actually means 'seat' and refers to the cushion upon which the yogi sits. The 'seat' is a metaphor for life and can be interpreted as physical, mental, or even spiritual. The lesson is that with practice, we can learn to sit more deeply and with more grace, through a difficult yoga pose, situation, or even relationship....
