Amrit Vela Sadhana
4am to 7am
"What is sadhana? It's a committed prayer. It is something which you want to do, have to do, and which is being done by you... Sadhana is self-enrichment. It is not something which is done to please somebody or to gain something. Sadhana is a personal process in which you bring out your best..." ~ Yogi Bhajan
Sadhana
Daily practice is the cornerstone to personal growth and the the foundation of a spiritual path. In yoga, we call this practice Sadhana - daily spiritual practice. Although practices vary among practioners - most yogi's include some form of asana, pranayama, mantra, mudra, and meditation in their practice. Done alone or in a group, sadhana is our opportunity each day to connect with our infinite self and work on our individual projection.
Amrit vela
The yogi's say that the most effective time of day to practice our spiritual discipline is in the early morning hours before the sun rises. This is precisely the time of day when the sun's light hits the earth at a 60 degree angle and our efforts are maximized. The yogi's call this time of day 'the Ambrosial Hours' - or "Amrit Vela". "The Lord's wealth is like jewels, gems and rubies. At the appointed time in the Amrit Vaylaa, the Lord's devotees lovingly center their attention on the Lord, and the wealth of the Lord. The devotees of the Lord plant the seed of the Lord's wealth in the ambrosial hours; they eat it, and spend it, but it is never exhausted." ~ Guru Nanak, Japji
aquarian sadhana
YwN offers devotional practices in the lineage of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. In 1992, Yogiji gave a specific practice of prayer, yoga, and meditation. The Aquarian Sadhana includes the reading of Japji (a Sikh devotional prayer), any chosen Kundalini Yoga set (Kriya), and recitation of 7 mantras. This specific Sadhana practice was chosen by Yogi Bhajan to help us transition into the Aquarian Age... and thus is called the Aquarian Sadhana.
