About Classes

Traditional classes sequence the poses and preserve teachings as they are handed down by the masters of practice. The Primary Series of Ashtanga-Vinyasa as taught by Sri K. Patthabhi Jois and Kundalini Kriyas as taught by Siri Singh Sahib Yogi Bhajan are available regularly.

Hatha classes include a core practice of mindful breathing and basic posture. Postures are sequenced with specific intent and self-paced to allow the student adequate time for exploration. Deep relaxation and meditation allow for absorption and integration at the end of each session.

Hatha Yoga Basics

Emphasizes alignment and form, core asanas, yogic breath, and meditation. Students explore a variety of yogic philosophies and quickly develop greater flexibility through detailed attention to body awareness. This class is suitable for the beginning student and can challenge the more advanced yogi to go deeper.

Mixed Levels Hatha Yoga

Builds upon basic hatha yoga alignment and form to include posture sequencing and technical asana structure. Typical class elements include sun and moon salutations, standing and balancing poses, forward and backward bending, seated bending and twists, prone and supine positions, deep relaxation, and short meditations.

Hatha Yoga for Teens

Provides a challenging workout for ages 10-17. Contradictory to what kids, teens, and adults might think - yoga can provide a strengthening experience for athletes of all levels. This class will incorporate a dynamic variety of balance, strength, and inversion movements into a core routine of yoga poses, breath-work, and concentration. Classes are quick-paced, playful and fun, yet challenging. A deep relaxation integrates the practice and leaves students feeling refreshed.

Kundalini Yoga

Uses familiar Hatha principles to explore the science of the chakras. Posture (Asana), breathwork (pranayam), hand position (mudra), chanting (mantra), and meditation combine to create a transformational and awakening experience. This class is accessible to all levels and requires no previous experience.

Beginning Ashtanga Yoga

Creates a foundation for Ashtanga yogis by incorporating traditional warm-ups with basic standing, bending, and balancing poses.

Mixed Levels Ashtanga Yoga

Introduces the Primary Series of Ashtanga-Vinyasa yoga as it is taught by Sri K. Patthabhi Jois of Mysore, India. This traditionally sequenced practice consists of 72 poses in 75 minutes. For the athletic yogi, this yoga purifies, cleanses, and rejuvenates the mind, body, and spirit.

Yoga Theme

Classes celebrate the explorative side of yoga and bring a sense of both fun and academic exploration to the practice. Classes focus on bringing different approaches to the center of attention with titles such as Chakra Chakra, The Artful Om, Temple of Bliss, and Om is Where the Art Is.

Yoga Therapy Classes

Focus on health ailments such as fibromyalgia, MS, vertigo, IBS, etc. Classes target poses, breathwork, and meditations that are particularly helpful for treating specific conditions. Students are encouraged to look at lifelong habits and patterns of behavior that effect the treatment and management of their condition and make changes where appropriate.
