Introduction to Yoga
Investigates the history and context of yoga as it applies to westerners. A beautiful documentary entitled Yoga Unveiled accompanies an introductory yoga lesson and the whole thing is followed up with yummy yogi tea and yogi stew. Students new to yoga are sure to walk away with understanding that parallels that of even the more advanced practitioner.
Integrating the Chakras
Affirms our power to tap the universal source as students learn to access each of the chakras with surety. The Chakras and Nadis are fundamental physiology in the yogic sciences of awareness such as Tantra, Kundalini and Hatha yogas. Intuitive understanding comes from learning about our energy centers and how they function. Chakra knowledge can help us to improve prana and stimulate kundalini as we learn to apply this physiology to our practice.
Partner Yoga
A fun, explorative way to deepen your practice of yoga. Through a process of synchronicity and presence, Partner Yoga helps us to develop our inner wisdom while in relationship with one another. Working with a partner helps us to open more deeply than perhaps we would alone - increasing our understanding and awareness of self. Tandem poses build trust and sensitivity while developing strength, flexibility, and endurance. Balance, body weight, and gentle touch support asana extension and alignment to provide optimal benefits.
The Heart of Yoga
Presents yoga as an art of the heart. It is a practice that involves every part of ourselves - physically, mentally, emotionally, spirtitually. Cultivating such an awarenesss requires dedication to openness and honesty about experience. On our journey into the heart of yoga, we will explore the qualities of a heart-centered practice and various techniques for cultivating these elements in our yoga.
Yoga for New Mothers
Developed out of my experience with friends and their new babies. This workshop is informative and nurturing and focuses on loving and mothering for the mommie-to-be. Postures and meditations good for pregnancy, labor, and everything in between.
